sounds;
2 make use of a basic phonetic script to read and write individual words;
3 define and exemplify the term phoneme and at least one set of allophones;
4 recognise and demonstrate the difference between
voiced and voiceless sounds;
5 know the essential difference between consonants and vowels;
6 recognise and demonstrate the difference between
single vowels and diphthongs.
